Terms of use

Terms of use

1. Scope of Service

SeaUsoon provides specialized offshore sailboat rental services and sabbatical preparation consultancy. Unlike standard charter companies, our vessels are specifically refitted for long-term, blue-water family voyages. Our service includes the use of the vessel, integrated safety equipment, and a bespoke preparation program.

2. The Sabbatical Model & Financial Savings

By choosing the SeaUsoon rental model, the Client acknowledges the financial benefit of avoiding the "Buy-Refit-Sell" cycle.

3. Preparation & Mentorship

A core component of the SeaUsoon experience is the Sabbatical Preparation Program.
  • Shared Responsibility: SeaUsoon provides expert guidance, technical oversight, and safety blueprints. However, the Final Skipper (the Client or their designated representative) remains legally responsible for the safe operation of the vessel and the welfare of the crew.
  • Technical Readiness: SeaUsoon ensures the vessel meets rigorous offshore standards prior to departure.

4. Booking, Deposits, and Payments

  • Reservation: A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of the initial deposit and a signed Rental Agreement.
  • Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit is required to cover insurance deductibles and potential damages not covered by the hull policy.
  • Payment Schedule: Due to the extensive custom preparation required for each sabbatical, payments are structured to support the refit timeline.

5. Insurance & Liability

  • Coverage: All SeaUsoon vessels carry comprehensive blue-water hull insurance and third-party liability coverage.
  • Client Obligations: Coverage is contingent upon the Skipper adhering to the agreed-upon cruising grounds and safety protocols.
  • Liability: SeaUsoon is not liable for itinerary changes caused by weather, maritime conditions, or "Force Majeure" events beyond our control.

6. Use of Vessel & Navigation

  • Offshore Limits: The vessel must be operated within the geographical limits specified in the individual rental contract.
  • Sub-Letting: The vessel is for the exclusive use of the Client’s family/crew and may not be sub-let or used for commercial purposes.

7. Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contract is the registered seat of SeaUsoon (e.g., Schwyz or Zurich).
